Coffee Party Mission Statement

Visited the Coffee Party website this morning. Yes, only because I wanted a new tea shirt (pun intended). Then I hit on the mission statement that is copied verbatim below. I highlighted the part that I like most, not only (although mainly) because I have come to this conclusion myself, but because it is so obvious. You can bitch and moan about the country going to hell or turning into a European satellite socialist state, but at some point you come to the realization that we are what we are as a nation and that we all have the power to vote to make a change. So ask yourself, who put a man on the moon, who defeated the fascists, who started the Vietnam war, who codified the Declaration of Independence, who . . . you get the idea. It is Us, spurned on by individuals for sure, but changing Us nevertheless for better or worse. Join the party, fellow Americans! The coffee is on me.

"The Coffee Party Movement gives voice to Americans who want to see cooperation in government. We recognize that the federal government is not the enemy of the people, but the expression of our collective will, and that we must participate in the democratic process in order to address the challenges that we face as Americans. As voters and grassroots volunteers, we will support leaders who work toward positive solutions, and hold accountable those who obstruct them."
