L.S.:
I learned from your website that "SFR oversees approximately 10,000 acres of forest lands at various locations in Pennsylvania through our Forestland Management Office and personnel. The major property is the Stone Valley Forest, a 6,775-acre tract located 30 minutes south of State College. SFR also has management responsibility for most off-campus woodlands belonging to the College."
We live nearby the Shaver's Creek Environmental Center. Over a month ago I sent the following message to the Stone Valley website.
"On the website, I would like to see more information about the individual projects, including clear cutting, replanting, genetic experiments such as with the American chestnut, etc. that are going on, with continuing updates when changes are made to a project. I feel it is your public responsibility for people to be able to find out how you are doing as the steward of our woods. Although I realize that you are not so directly responsible as the state government is towards its citizens, it would be great PR to let the public know that we take Forest Management serious and develop new ideas and approaches for sustainable practices."
Despite two reminders, although the last one was sent today (see below), I have not received any response. Now I have added my attempt to get a reply to my blog 'whatever'. Hopefully someone can get back to me and address the issue that I brought up, namely that all forest projects should be listed on a website, and regularly updated, so that interested bystanders like myself can find out how you are managing our forests. It is quite possible that there already is such a website. If so, I am sure you will point me in the right direction.

PS: in 2008 Lake Perez was drained. Although the Stone Valley website gives us a short description why this is the case, why not let us know what is happening and when we can expect to be able to use the lake again?
